How do we do it?
At Genius Hive Pre-school, we believe that children learn best through meaningful experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity and confidence. Our teaching approach is designed to provide authentic and holistic learning opportunities that grow with every child, and equipping them with essential 21st century competencies.
Placing a strong emphasis on bilingualism, we are committed to nurture children's ability to communicate comfortably and confidently in both English and Mandarin from an early age. Through engaging activities, stories and interactive learning, preschoolers develop a strong foundation in both languages, supporting their cognitive growth and developing cultural awareness.
Theme Explorations
Termly themes are introduced to guide and encourage
child-directed inquiry learning to take place. The meaningful integration of learning areas set out in EYDF and NEL Frameworks considers and engages children's current interests, developmental needs and curiosities to promote holistic and authentic learning experiences
Purposeful and
Free Play
Our learning environment, resources and activities are designed to support differentiated learning through purposeful and free play. Teachers take on the role of playmates and co-constructors of knowledge. Peer learning opportunities are extended through mixed-age interactions in our learning centres.
Collaborative Learning
Learning at Genius Hive Pre-school is enriched through collaboration. Children engage in group work, discussions, projects and interactive provocations. Partnerships with parents, families and the wider community further extend these opportunities through school events, excursions, volunteering and morning walks.
Environmental Sustainability
We empower children to take an active role in caring for the environment. Through simple yet impactful practices, the children cultivate the habits of conserving water, minimising food waste, reducing, reusing, recycling and uplifting unwanted or old items, and embracing healthy and sustainable living.
Weekly Morning Walks
Extending our learning environment outdoors in the vibrant CBD area provides rich opportunities for our active and curious learners to discover and explore nature, people, culture, architecture and events. Connecting them to their environment, community and the wider world, we tap onto authentic interactions to develop mindful and gracious citizens of tomorrow.
